Raising Hope international Friends was first set up as a registered charity in 2016. It was formed by a group of patients, parents and health professionals who were all concerned about the lack of understanding and the inadequacy of treatment for people especially children living with sickle cell disorders.

Our History
Raising Hope International Friends is an indigenous local non profit organisation that started from Pallisa District with her headquarters in Kampala District . RHIF was founded in 2016 by a young enterprising youth Mr Okello Isaac who was committed to improving the living standards and the level of making of young people, children and more so those affected with sickle cell disease who at times and often would get little or no attention.
The organization particularly targets projects targets youth, school dropout, married or pregnant young mothers faced with challenges of sustainable livelihood by reducing barriers to accessing adolescent-friendly health services.
Much emphasis is put on women and children who are most vulnerable members of the society, addressing issues of reproductive health, education, water n sanitation, Campaigns and advocacy, women /girl child empowerment through civic education and women IGA Programmes.
RHIF is purposed to build confidence, raise self esteem to those with Sickle cell, improve the health status and empower the community we work with to participate fully in their own affairs and decision making to facilitate community based projects.
This is aimed at exploiting natural resources and human resources available in the region whist sustaining and improve the health, capacity building of women, girl child and community development.
Our Objectives
>To promote public awareness of SCD amongst health care professionals regarding the needs and experiences of families living with sickle cell disease.
>To engage individuals and families living with sickle cell disease in planning and implementation of complications preventative strategies required to optimize care.
>To collaborate with Uganda hospitals to design and implement SCD initiatives to help improve on Awareness and access to treatment and education.
>To increase health intervention directly and indirectly to all classes of people in Uganda.
>To increase Psycho-social support to Gender Based Violence, Sickle Cell victims, young mothers, HIV/AIDS and other related affected victims.
